Brent Barness holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is licensed to practice Acupuncture in the State of Iowa and Minnesota. Brent is the lead practitioner of Decorah Wellness Center.  The center will serve as pilot clinic for the development of a larger integrative health center to serve the NE Iowa community.

Brent and his wife, Michelle, moved back to Decorah in 2016 to raise our family and reconnect with the community we love.  Brent has studied and practiced traditional Chinese medicine since 2004. While he enjoys helping people with a wide variety of challenging issues, he specializes in pain relief, internal medicine, cardiovascular disorders, GI disorders, healthy aging and anxiety/depression/fatigue. Clinically, he focuses on pulse diagnosis, Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.

He brings many years of insight and practical experience to the Decorah Wellness Center. Before moving back to Decorah, he was the director and co-founder of Everspring Health, an integrative healthcare cooperative in Minneapolis, MN. Brent also holds a bachelor’s Degree from Luther College.  He enjoys working with clients of all ages and seeks to improve the quality of life of the whole community.
